Clean water supplies are often contaminated following natural disasters. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that fallen debris, livestock waste, untreated waste water, and even loose chemicals can all impact water quality in the weeks after devastating disasters. Further, downed power grids and damaged water infrastructure can delay the delivery of water even after it has been deemed potable for human consumption.
To date, Can'd Aid has provided over 1.6 miilion cans of clean drinking water to communitites in need and living in post disaster conditions where water is unsafe to drink. Through working directly with local authorities and agencies, drinking water is prepared in aluminum cans and shipped where it is needed most in times of crisis.
So far in 2019, Can'd Aid has provided clean drinking water to Bomb Cyclone vistims and elderly residents of Arizona where they have experienced unprecidented heat for extened and dangerous periods of time. Over 103,200 cans of water have been shipped this year to date.
