Education is a human right and is central to achieving many other sustainable development outcomes. A quality basic education gives children and youth the knowledge and skills they need to face daily life challenges, and take advantage of economic and lifelong learning opportunities. It is also a key driver for reducing poverty, fostering economic growth, and achieving gender equality, and social development.
Education helps people become better citizens, get better-paid jobs, and shows the difference between good and bad. Education shows us the importance of hard work and, at the same time, helps us grow and develop. Thus, we are able to shape a better society to live in by knowing and respecting rights, laws, and regulations
These benefits are even greater when support for education is targeted toward the less privileged and vulnerable children in society. Investigation reveals that a high number of school dropouts is caused by children’s lack of access to basic school supplies to aid in their educational learning process. It is based on these reasons that EbonyIda Foundation plans to sponsor school supplies to 210 (Two Hundred and Ten) less privileged children and provide vocational skills to 20 vulnerable youths in Edo state Nigeria. The school supplies which include Books, uniforms, and writing materials are to be provided to less privileged pupils who cannot afford them.
