Thank you supporters for checking in on our progress!
We are happy to report that we have not had any cat-car strikes in the past two years total over 900 days road-kill free! We have not see this kind of accident-free period since the 1979 or 1980's!
It is likely that our efforts to educate the island visitors and residents are paying off.  People are perhaps driving slower in the zones that we have posted as caution areas. It feels good. But there are various other issues that are causing us conern lately. Overtourism is a constant topic of discussion and efforts are being made to face it at the same time some people are working against us in our efforts.

In this 5th report you will find updates about :

  • Zero Accidents 2025
  • Confusing overtourism strategies by Taketomi Town
  • Guide company getting preferential treatment by the `Ecotourism Promotion Council`
  • Taketomi Town Visitor Tax update
  • Iriomote Cat Day 2025 Report
  • Coony's promotion of Yamapato nationally with her connection to AllHearts Company and placing brown sugar brownies in Family Mart around Japan!

We hope that you enjoy reading our updates. We are looking forward to expanding our work based on your generous donations! Please share our project with your friends and family as we try to reduce traffic accidents and continue to protect the wild cat habitats in Iriomote.
