"Hi ! My name is Angel* and I’m 16 years old. I come from the island of Negros Occidental in the Philippines. I’ve been living in CAMELEON for almost 10 months now. When I arrived here in the center, I felt nervous, and at the same time I was happy and safe because they accepted me here and they were willing to help me. Now that I’ve been living here for a long time, I can say that I’m in good hands. The other girls treat me as a friend or a sister. Sometimes I feel lonely, but the girls always cheer me up. I want to thank my sponsor for giving me the things I need and trusting me without reservation. When time comes, I want to be a masterchef cook. I want to learn different menus so that I’ll be able to cook to my family, to CAMELEON staff and also to the street children."
*The name has been changed for her safety
To help girl survivors of sexual violence like Angel, any gift, even small, can make a difference. Today starts the "Little by Little" week organized by GlobalGiving. During 5 days, all donations up to $50 USD will be matched by 50%. For example, if you give $30, we receive $45, which provides 3 balanced meals per day during a weak for 2 beneficiaries.
The donations will be matched starting today until Friday. We count on your help during this special week!
Best regards,
The CAMELEON Team and beneficiaries
