Dear donors,
We are glad to send you news of the activities held for the girls sheltered in our centers during the past three months. We remain at your disposal for any question, and if you’re interested by sponsoring one of our beneficiaries.
Thank you and enjoy spring season!
The CAMELEON Team
Arts
Last February, CAMELEON girls participated in a painting workshop organized by volunteers. This activity served as a platform for them to further develop their creativity and express themselves freely. It proved to be a powerful outlet, enabling the girls to articulate their feelings through the medium of art.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Animal-Assisted Therapy sessions are regularly conducted to support girls in their healing and recovery journey. These activities are designed to adapt to the girls’ needs by addressing various objectives like respect, boundaries, trust, self-esteem and hygiene, among others.
Sports
CAMELEON girls regularly benefit from swimming sessions, which provide a valuable opportunity for them to learn essential skills at their age. This activity not only helps build trust and foster camaraderie among the girls, but also encourages support, highlighting their genuine desire to progress and succeed collectively. This skill is important for the girls to learn, as some of them live by the seaside and riverside, which is significant for their survival skills and allows them to conquer their fears.
More than 40 CAMELEON girls from Negros and Iloilo participated in various activities, including aerials, Capoeira, buugeng, yoga, and Jiu-jitsu. These activities were facilitated by our partners Klara Camaya, Jojo Casilao, Kitty Cooper, and Mestre Parabolica and are still regularly conducted as part of the therapeutic interventions and skills development for our girls. CAMELEON is grateful for the support and commitment of partners like them to further our programs and services for the healing and recovery of the girls under our care.
On February 17, 2024, we celebrated teamwork and unity at the CAMELEON Olympics 2024, held at the Passi Center. Our In-House and After-Care girls demonstrated their camaraderie and sportsmanship as they participated in various fun activities organized by our French Volunteers. (video below)
PS: this week, it’s the Little-by-Little operation held by GlobalGiving! Donations up to $50 will be matched at 50% during the campaign, until funds run out. If you wish to make a gift, any contribution will help us to keep on the therapeutic activities provided to the girls. Thanks in advance for your help!
