From Financial Burden to Classroom Success
In the Treang District of Cambodia, many families face a tough choice: put food on the table or send their children to school. The costs of school supplies, while seemingly small, can be a heavy burden, often leading to a concerning trend of older children dropping out to contribute to their family's income. Without an education, these children are more vulnerable to child labor, trafficking, and unsafe migration. This is the challenge your support helps us overcome.
This July, Aredoc successfully completed our annual School Supply Distribution, transforming the lives of 1,236 students across ten primary schools. We provided each student with a learning kit containing notebooks, pens, pencils, and erasers. For our 349 Grade 6 students, we also provided an extra school bag. These simple tools are more than just supplies; they are a direct investment in a child's future, removing the financial barrier to education and empowering them to stay in the classroom.
During the distribution, our team navigated the challenges of the rainy season and coordinated with schools during their 2nd-semester exams to ensure every child was reached. The positive reception from families during our visits was truly heartwarming, and their appreciation for the support provided by the program was clear. Your partnership is crucial. It gives these students the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter, safer future for themselves and their community. Thank you for making this life-changing work possible.
