Protect orphans and abandoned children in Nepal

Dear friends,

Namaste and Greetings,

It’s our great pleasure to share with you all beloved friends the Quarterly progress report of SDO-Nepal’s child-home-orphanage for the duration of  1^st NOV to-date as follows:

1)                    Our story:

Let us imagine, how an ORPHANED GIRL would have feel or behaved when she  lost her father and mother both in the early child hood of 7 years of age ? Indeed, the matter is quite serious when she is from very poor and tribal caste. No one is ready to hold her hand ! Sorry, for bringing YOU on deep-thought. 
This is NOT a STORY of imagination. It was really happened on the life of SRIJANA. She came to this SDO-Orphanage when she was of 7 years old. Now, SRIJANA is 11 years old and is studying at class-3. She is very talented girl and is achieving OUTSTANDING RESULTS i.e. GPA: 3.89 continuously since 4 years. She is also awarded with APPRECIATION CERTIFICATES and MEDALS from her school. She is a lovely and very friendly child.

2)Achievements:

a)Educational progress of children: 

We are so glad to share the  Educational progress Report of  the children who received the outstanding and excellent performances on 2^nd -TERM-EXAM as follows:

i)SRIJANA, class-3 achieved OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.89
ii) PEMBA, class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.60

iii) KARISHMA,class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.37

iv) DOLMA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.06
v) SUSMITA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.06
vi) SABITA, class-KG achieved VERRY GOOD PERFORMANCE with GPA-2.85

* Rest girls also achieved Satisfactory-Performance in this exam.

 b) Extra-Curricular-Activities:

• PEMBA, class-3 is awarded with MEDAL on “Dance-Competition”.
• DOLMA, class-4 is awarded with MEDAL on “Spelling-Contest”.
• SUSMITA , cass-4 is awarded with 2 pencils for achieving 24/25 marks on English Class-Test.
• DOLMA,class-4 achieved 1^st-position on English Unit Test i.e. 24/25.
• KARISHMA, class-3 achieved 10/10 on English and 9.5/10 on Math unit-test.

. 2) Others:

• RANI, SARASWATI , SABITA and DURGA participated on Educational-Tour around Katmandu valley. Similarly, DOLMA, SUSMITA, PEMBA and KARISHMA is also participated on Educational Tour to Tribhuwan Park, Kathmandu.
• Children celebrated Christmas, New Year, Maghe Sakranti eve and festivals with great joys.
• Mr. PREM joint-Secretary of SDO has participated on National Workshop “ Alternative Care Services in Nepal” which was jointly organized by UNICEF, Save the Children, Plan International and SOS-Children home.

 3) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid- $ 800 for house rent/ water, food items purchased-$110, Telephone expenses-$80, Carpet purchased-&73,Care-Giver salary paid- $ 180, thick blanket (4 nos) purchased-$72, plastic chairs (10 nos) purchased-$54 and school fee paid $20.

4)Our kind Gratitude and Acknowledgements:

•       Similarly,We extend our heartiest THANKS to STEVEN, KAPIL, PAULA,NANCY, ANN and CLARK for your worthy DONATIONS through GlobalGiving.
•       Our kind Gratitude to our friend BEATRICE for selling Nepali felt-items at UK and sending donations through GlobalGiving.

 ii) We are indebted to  you all beloved friends for your love and support through GlobalGiving and at our office  to ensure the lives of these children. THANK YOU ALL!!

iii)Similarly, we are so thankful to those friends who supported with cash/foods/ cloths/accessories etc during this 3 months period at our office are:

• Our SDO member REKHA donated Nrs 2000 to cover the expenses for children’s educational tour.
• Our sincere Thanks to LEILA/SURESH for providing special Christmas Gifts /shampoo/toothpaste and also singing, dancing and  playing with children.
• We also Thank you to Namuna and family for donating Nrs 3,000 to orphanage.
• A 9 years old girl Abhishree donated $100 from the money collected during Dashain and Dipawali festivals. Thank you baby for your great thought.
• We  sincerely Thanks to Mr Gangaram from GKM- TRUST for granting partly scholarship @ Nrs 1000/Month to continue the education to SABITA, class-KG who is an earthquake affected girl.
• We Thanks to a lovely group of teachers (Bimala, Binita and Prabina) for celebrating your Birthday with children with cutting cake, and providing sweets.
• Our sincere Thanks to Randall and Katy  for providing 5 school bags with stationery packs/toothpaste/ fruits. Thank you so much KATY  for  teaching beautiful YOGA postures to children.
•  Thanks to Srijana/ Surya and family for providing food stuffs / stationery and cash gifts to children.
• Thank you Sanukaji for donating Nrs 5,000 on the memories of your deceased mother.
• Thank you Satendra for providing food stuffs on the memory of your deceased father.
• Thank you Ganesh for providing food stuffs/ sweets for Maghe Sakranti festival on your Birthday.
• 2 lovely sisters AAGYA and AMIRA celebrated their birthday cutting cake with children from the money they saved from their pocket money.

 Dear friends, from the love and support from all of you, our hopes are sprouting and getting encouragement to protect more needy children and run the orphanage sustainably. But, due to the  highly increasing market price day by day and rapidly increasing education costs,   it is being hard to provide the fundamental needs to our orphans and abandoned children. Your every donation is precious and will bring the significant changes on the life of these orphans and abandoned children. we look forward for your continuous support, encouragement and hoping that you will spread your kind  words to support on our Cause.
