We’re excited to share the latest updates from our ongoing work to prevent child sexual violence through education, empowerment, and community collaboration. Thanks to your support, we've continued expanding our efforts across workshops, community-based communications, legal and psychological support, and capacity-building for other organizations.
1. Prevention Workshops for Children, Families, and Educators
Over the past four years, we’ve developed a specialized, experience-based workshop model alongside experts in child protection. These sessions are designed to be interactive, age-appropriate, and community-specific. In the last trimester, we facilitated several key workshops:
Staff Training at "Tecorral Casa Comunitaria” (June 2025): We conducted a sensitization workshop on child sexual violence prevention for seven staff members. The session helped staff better understand risk factors, protective behaviors, and their role in safeguarding children.
Self-Care Workshop for Adolescents (June 2025): We delivered a two-session workshop on self-care and emotional well-being for 13 adolescents aged 16–17.
Workshop for Parents at Ameyalli School (June 2025): Twenty-three mothers and fathers of preschool and elementary school students attended a workshop on comprehensive sexuality education and prevention. It offered practical tools for communicating with their children about consent, boundaries, and emotional safety.
2. Community-Based Communication Strategy
We continue to invest in creative and culturally relevant ways to talk about child sexual violence prevention:
Mural Restoration and Campaign Update: In May, we allocated funds for maintaining our three prevention-themed murals. In June, our partner Xoloplastics produced updated campaign balloons with refreshed messaging to be installed this summer.
Training the Next Generation of Community Spokeswomen: In March, we launched the second cohort of our Community Spokeswomen Network, a group of local women trained to lead conversations and share knowledge on child protection. Since April, five new women leaders have participated consistently and are on track to graduate in August. Several graduates from the first cohort are now supporting facilitation—a promising sign of leadership sustainability.
Storytelling and Didactic Resources for Children: In May, we began drafting a new storybook designed for preschool and early primary-age children. The story offers a gentle, age-appropriate way to introduce concepts like consent, body autonomy, and safety.
Additionally, we held two storytelling events with more than fifty children.
3. Direct Support: Legal Guidance and Psychological Care
Our work also includes one-on-one support for children affected by sexual violence. From January to June 2025:
We provided two legal consultations for families navigating the justice system.
We are currently offering ongoing psychological care to one child survivor.
These services are offered with confidentiality, compassion, and trauma-informed approaches.
4. Training for Partner Organizations
To scale our impact, we offer training to professionals from other civil society organizations and educational institutions.
In June 2025, we delivered a two-hour virtual sensitization workshop to six staff members from Más Sueños A.C.. The session explored the cycle of sexual violence, tools for prevention, and strategies for communication with children.
Participants shared meaningful feedback, including:
“It really made me think about how we talk to kids about their bodies, emotions, and consent—even at home.”
“I’m planning to include the cycle of sexual violence in my own workshops—it's so clear and helpful.”
“The idea of asking children before hugging them really stayed with me. It’s such a simple but powerful change.”
Your Impact Is Real
Because of your support, families are talking, kids are learning, and communities are organizing to protect childhood. We’re so grateful for your partnership.
