Not-so-routine in Cambodia
New campaigns and routine immunization will protect more children from Japanese encephalitis
Thank you for your continued support of PATH’s work to stop Japanese encephalitis (JE)!
We have some exciting news to share with you. On March 1—with the support of PATH, our supporters, and global funders—the government of Cambodia launched a new series of JE immunization campaigns. In March alone, leaders expect the expanded effort to reach an astounding 4.3 million children aged 9 months to 15 years across the country.
Even more exciting? Cambodia is planning to add the JE vaccination to its routine immunization program after this campaign ends. That means that every child will receive protection from this deadly disease along with other standard vaccines. That’s big news for Cambodia’s littlest citizens.
These key accomplishments for Cambodia are powerful milestones for PATH’s longstanding commitment to turn a little-known vaccine from China into an internationally approved, affordable, and accessible tool to fight JE.
Your support helps make that possible! Thank you.
