This project will support Cambodian Children's Fund's effort to protect the vulnerable community of Steung Meanchey from COVID-19 by providing hygiene and sanitation products and resources to students and families to ensure they are educated and updated regarding COVID-19, they remain safe and healthy, and to prevent the spread of the virus across vulnerable populations in Cambodia.
After nearly a year of relatively low COVID-19 cases in Cambodia, the country is currently experiencing an outbreak, with 2378 reported cases. On March 21st it was found that six people had tested positive for COVID 19 in the CCF community. CCF's team has been quick to respond to the changing environment, and quickly acted to track and slow the spread, ensuring these individuals have proper care and all those who have been in contact are properly cared for while quarantining.
In order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus in Cambodia and protect a vulnerable community that would be most greatly impacted by an outbreak, personal hygiene and sanitization supplies will continue to be distributed. This project would fund: - Alcohol-based hand sanitizer for each student - Hand soap for each student - Face masks for each student - COVID-19 Information packs and posters to be posted and distributed - Call center for sharing information and updates of COVID-19
This project will prevent the spread of COVID-19 in one of Cambodia's most vulnerable communities by educating the community on safety precautions & sanitary procedures and will increase the likelihood that if anyone is infected, they may quickly access the isolated treatment necessary. If done right, our programs will be able to resume, & focus on our mission of transforming some of Cambodia's most impoverished children into tomorrow's leaders and empowering the next generation out of poverty.
