This urgent project prepares 900 villages for climate disasters. From replanting sea banks to reclaiming ruined farmland, local people learn how to adapt, stay safe and rebuild even stronger. With eco-clubs for children, safe-zone mapping, women-led response plans and flood barriers made from trees, it's a grassroots plan that saves lives: protecting the most vulnerable to threat, in the most vulnerable areas to climate change - children, women and the elderly - ensuring they feel less afraid.
Across Nepal, India and Bangladesh, communities face rising flash floods, cyclones, landslides and drought. Unpredictable rainfall, melting glaciers and salinated land have made traditional farming impossible. Families are left frightened and unprepared. Children lose schools, women lose income and villages are left exposed and at risk. Hitting the most vulnerable the hardest.
This project trains 51,000 people in 900 villages to spot early warning signs, adapt farming methods and protect their land and families. Children join eco-clubs, women lead disaster plans and communities build natural flood defenses like tree barriers and living dams. Together, they map risks, plan safe zones and reclaim damaged land.
In 2023-24 we served over 25,000 families, now, we aim to support 51,0000, doubling the impact. With this urgent work, families will be safer, calmer and more resilient when disasters hit. Salinated land will grow crops again. Floods will cause less harm. Children will stay in school. Women will lead local protection efforts. Nature-based, low-cost solutions will restore forests, protect homes and ensure vulnerable communities aren't left behind.
