We are happy to report that soon Kokwa community will be having a new dispensary as the Baring County Government has really worked hard in construction of the new dispensary after the failed project by CDF. The dispensary has already been roofed and they are now doing the finishing work they have promised that By September everything will be done including stocking the dispensary with the necessary drugs and equipment ready for use by the community by October 2016. This is really good for the community as they have been looking forward to this. We thank the Baringo County Government for their quick actions and we are optimistic that they will keep the promise of the dispensary being operational by October 2016. The area is still dry and hot and the community is hoping for the rains very soon.
We have continued working closely with the community and especially on health issues where we have done some activities with them to improve their nutrition health. We have supported a women group with a cow and 5 dairy goats to ensure that their families will have improved nutrition health and at the same time the group will generate income from sales of milk from the cow and dairy goats to the larger Kokwa community. Although this is very little just like “a drop of water in the ocean,” we are piloting this project to monitor the impact that it will create. If successful, we are ready to fundraise for many more such projects. We welcome all our well-wishers to join us in making our dreams into reality. We thank all those who have continued to support the Kokwa community and to encourage them continue supporting them.
