Finally Kokwa community has received good news from the government that they will receive funds which will support construction of a new dispensary. The plan is to build a dispensary with modern facilities that will enable the community receive most immediate services instead of referrals. Although this will take time as it is not clear yet when the money will be realized once implemented it will save the community most of the current challenges. This time round we have not received heavy rains in the highlands and this is an advantage to Kokwa community as the lake has not flooded to affect them. Our well wishers are willing to continue working with us to provide support to the community before they receive funds to implement the project. We used some of the money fundraised through global giving to support the most immediate health issues. We managed to provide transport and medical fee to 6 patients who were referred to Marigat district hospital for further medication. We also purchased some malaria drugs to be used in the temporary dispensary as malaria cases rose due to floods and this was a very important step since the dispensary had no more drugs as they were waiting to be released from the government. We thank all our well-wishers for their humble contributions to support this community to ensure healthy living. We are working hand to raise more funds as we realize they need more support each and every day.
