Project Report | Sep 27, 2023
Thank you for crossing the finish line together!

By Claudia Estrada | Executive Director

Throughout 2023, United for Colombia (UFC) achieved remarkable milestones in the realm of inclusive sports. A total of 60 UFC beneficiaries participated in the Bogotá Half Marathon and Medellín Marathon, forming an extraordinary team that included visually impaired athletes, wheelchair athletes, individuals using crutches, and those with sports prostheses. Their determination showcased one undeniable truth: limits cease to exist when determination takes center stage.

Marathons Overview:

Date: July 1 & September 3, 2023

Location: Bogotá & Medellín, Colombia

Target Group: 60 people with disabilities

Achievements:

UFC beneficiaries ran side by side with their families and other runners who joined our cause. These marathons were more than just races; they were celebrations of inclusion for individuals with disabilities in the world of sports. Additionally, they underlined the role of sports as a potent instrument for physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Impact on the Community:

The local community was deeply moved by the participation of individuals with disabilities, who, in turn, became a wellspring of inspiration for fellow runners. Their stories exemplified the resilience of the human spirit and broke down stereotypes surrounding disability.

Your Contribution:

Your generous donations have been instrumental in the rehabilitation of UFC beneficiaries and have enable their participation in these events. Thank you for running together and promoting inclusive sports!

Next Stepts:

We invite you to continue supporting our cause through donations, spreading the word about United for Colombia, and considering becoming part of our team of runners. Together, we can keep breaking down barriers, celebrating inclusion, and promoting the power of sports in the rehabilitation and empowerment.
