United for Colombia promotes sports in its beneficiaries to facilitate their rehabilitation process. In recent years, we have set up a team, under the name “Changing a life”, to participate in different sporting events.
The last September 16th, United for Colombia joined efforts with the U.S Embassy in Colombia, Achilles International and local companies to sponsor a group of 120 survivors from different regions in Colombia, specifically from Antioquia, to participate in Medellin's biggest running race; Maraton de Medellin. Our beneficiaries participated in three different categories: running with prosthesis, handcycle and wheelchairs!
It was a very emotional morning in that survivors had the chance to partake with conventional runners and prove, once again, that disabilities only exist in our mind!
We are proud to share with you some of the most exciting moments from that day!
