The objectives of this project are:to provide physical,psychological and social monitoring to children,adolescents,women and families in a disadvantaged community in Northeast Brazil;to supply or supplement the necessary assistance that these victims need using integrated therapies with a focus on education, prevention and self-care;to educate and promote a culture of peace and attitudes based on non-violence and human rights through parades for peace and talks on self-care and access to justice
Out of the 50 most violent cities in the world-among those with more than 300.000 inhabitants-16 of them are Brazil.Nine are in the Northeast.The first reason is the poverty:In rural areas of Brazil poverty affects approximately 51% of the population and Brazil's North-Eastern region has the single largest concentration of rural poverty in Latin America.The second reason is the robust expansion related to drug trafficking,those engaged in the trade have settled in the region quickly.
This project will raise awareness among the community against the situations of domestic,social and school violence;educate adolescents and young people on all situations of fragility that belong to this age group as pertains to sexuality,bullying,the search for identity and the body;address the lack of psychological support to improve behavior and academic achievement of children and adolescents of the project;improve the general network for positive collaboration,especially with public network
The project will directly educate 110 children and adolescents and 75 families, and indirectly impact 200 families by the Community for a culture of peace. Through support for education, psychological support, physical and social experts, and health and self-care promotion it will improve the welfare of families and community as a whole.
