The progress report of the "Projects on The Go" (POG) in communities and schools for November 2023 highlights several key aspects of the project's impact and activities over the past three months, particularly in relation to girls and women and the enhancement of social entrepreneurship.
In the community segment, POG has reached out to five communities, with a total of 38 beneficiaries participating in various clubs such as Craft and Kitchen Gardening. The communities engaged include Sofia, Iffat, Madina colony, Nasir colony, A1 Gulburg community, Behari Ahata, and Canal Park community. The activities range from wool braidflowers and ribbon pins to kitchen gardening efforts like growing spinach, fenugreek, and tomatoes. The report indicates that a total of 38 females were involved in these initiatives, emphasizing the project's focus on female engagement.
In the school domain, POG has been active in five educational institutions, impacting a total of 229 beneficiaries. The schools involved are Fatehgar Care Adopted Girls High School, Govt. Girls High School Wahdat Road, Door of Awareness Center 09 Township, Govt. Girls High School Mansora, and Jamia-tul-Mohsinat Mansora. Challenges faced included a need for more material, while successes were marked by enhanced practical skills, great activity engagement, brainstorming sessions, talent boosting, and practical exposure. The emphasis on girls' schools underlines POG's commitment to improving the skills and opportunities for young women.
The challenges reported in the communities focused on time management, family issues, material shortages, and irregular participation of females. Despite these challenges, the communities reported enhanced skills, productive brainstorming, the creation of products, work-from-home opportunities, and notably, women empowerment, which aligns with the project's goals of enhancing social entrepreneurship.
