This project will provide access to middle and high school education for students in the coffee growing village of Joconal, Guatemala. With your help, 27 students will be able to overcome the cycle of poverty and pursue a better future.
In Guatemala, one of two children doesn't have access to education beyond the 6th grade. The children living in poverty, often in rural communities, account for the majority of those without access to secondary education. This disconnect perpetuates the cycle of poverty.
Our project gives students in rural communities access to middle and high school education. Using basic technology and an online classroom, we are able to connect them to qualified teachers, accredited curriculum, and resources for learning in their village. The program provides live instruction online and in the classroom. We bring community development alongside our school to ensure it is sustainable long-term.
We will help lift the village of Joconal out of poverty and will provide them with a self-sustaining secondary school.
