Dear Project of the Month Club Member,
This November, we’re spotlighting an organization that proves joy itself can be a form of healing—and that even in the toughest circumstances, hope can take center stage.
In the world’s largest refugee settlement in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya children live in crowded spaces with limited access to school. Many have endured trauma and have limited access to healthcare or safe spaces to play and learn. Daily life in the camps can feel monotonous and heavy, with little opportunity for joy or creative expression.
Our November Project of the Month, called “Circus of Hope Bangladesh”, is determined to infuse joy into heavy times by offering children something that all children need: Fun. Together with local NGO KOINONIA, the project offers psychosocial and educational “social circus” performances and workshops for Rohingya children.
Under bright canopies and open skies, performers toss balls high into the air, balance on unicycles, and lead games that fill the camp with applause and giggles. So far, the team has reached more than 8,000 young audience members, giving them moments of fun, confidence, and belonging. But their work goes beyond performance. By training and empowering children to lead and sustain activities, they’re also building long-term community capacity and ensuring that joy, learning, and creativity continue to ripple through Cox’s Bazar for years to come.
We are deeply honored by this recognition from GlobalGiving and the generous support of the Project of the Month Club,” said David Mason, Founder and Pedagogical Director of Mobile Mini Circus for Children. “It fills us with joy to know that our Social Circus can continue spreading laughter and creating hope in some of the world’s most challenging places. Your support helps us sustain, improve, and expand our work, bringing joy, creativity, and resilience to thousands of children who need it most.”
Thank you for helping make these moments of joy possible—and for continuing to invest in a world where every child has reason to hope.
With gratitude, and until next time,
Yami + The GlobalGiving Team
