This January, you’re helping power the heartbeat of Dar es Salaam’s art ecosystem—the Nafasi Art Space, a dynamic creative hub in Tanzania.
Nafasi provides a dedicated space for artists to create, learn from mentors, and collaborate with passionate curators and managers to share their work with local and global audiences.
For more than a decade, Nafasi has been the backbone of Dar’s thriving cultural scene, nurturing the creativity and connections that sustain the arts. But despite its immense value to the community, Nafasi now faces a critical challenge: securing the land where they built their stunning art compound.
Thanks to your support, the Nafasi Art Space is one step closer to reaching this goal. The Project of the Month Club made a $10,000 flexible grant to Nafasi Art Space earlier this month!
“Upon hearing the news, we were overjoyed and inspired,” said Lilian Hipolyte, Managing Director of Nafasi Art Space. “This will play a crucial role in securing land and developing the infrastructure needed for Nafasi’s growth. Owning our space will provide a permanent home for our creative community, allowing us to expand programs, build artist studios, and create tailored exhibition and training spaces.
With your donation, you’re not just contributing—you’re becoming part of a story that breathes life, beauty, and vitality into the arts and the community.
As Lilian shared, “Making and experiencing art is a fundamental part of being human and a powerful tool for making the world a more just and peaceful place.”
We couldn’t agree more—and we can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support of the Project of the Month Club.
Thank you for your commitment to a more vibrant and beautiful world.
With gratitude,
