We reached our goals! Thanks to your immense support and contribution to project 100 for 20. We achieved this great feat through your unflinching faith in our goals.
We set out with a goal to raise $5,000 (2,000,000 naira as at the inception of the project) for female students pursuing STEM careers. So far, we have been able to raise $993 through our fundraising activity on GlobalGiving. Through other fundraising activities, we have been able to raise additional $1580 through other channels
We set a deadline for the fundraising campaign to be on the 1st of October and we raised a total of $2573 (2,333,763 estimated naira equivalent as at the date of this report) at the deadline. Please note that the disparity in the dollar equivalent is due to the increasing exchange rate.
Our next step is to put out a call for applications to female undergraduate students pursuing STEM degrees and select the most deserving girls who will benefit from the scholarship opportunity.
We continue to put in effort toward empowering more women and girls in STEM fields. This year, we continued our partnership with IHS Towers to train and equip 50 women with STEM skills such as Data Visualisation and Project Management. Our objective is to upskill participants to help them secure better employment and earn more from their current employment as certified scrum masters. We also continued our partnership with Nigerian Breweries to provide a one year internship placement for 20 recent graduates.
To celebrate the international day of the girl child, we partnered with Spurt to organise an online event tagged ‘How are we empowering girls for the digital generation?’ We look to enlighten more ladies on how to harness digital technology.
We are more than grateful for your support of Project 100 for 20. We look forward to the impact this project will have in the lives of the beneficiaries.
Cheers to greater impact!
Thank you.
