By Adinelson Farias de Souza Filho | Presidente Silvestre Associacao Cultural
A project initiated by the Silvestre Cultural Association that aims to enable the continuity and permanence of a free dance technique training program that prioritizes the Salvador community, it began in August 2022 independently with practical and theoretical classes in the Silvestre Technique. With weekly evening classes lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes, the entire first cycle trained instructors to disseminate the Technique, preparing students to enter technical schools and ballet and contemporary dance companies.
There was no selection for this second cycle in 2024, as it was decided to continue with the same students to better utilize their composition skills and to be concerned about the physical condition of the new students! Currently, male and female students between 20 and 30 years of age are undergoing training, with the participation of two visiting foreign students who participated in the classes sporadically and contributed to the space and classes.
END OF THE CYCLE (AUGUST-NOVEMBER) 2024
The new feature for the end of this cycle was the recording of a study video for future presentation at the Silvestre Cultural Association in January 2025. The video was recorded on November 18, 2024 and has a link on YouTube shared with the students. The end of this cycle was a live music session with the musician Peu Matiz! This Show was mediated by the teacher and project coordinator Vanessa, as well as its conclusion, which took place with a conversation circle for testimonials and comments from the students about their learning processes and perspectives.
