As we near the close of the rainy season here in Mali, we are reflecting on the incredible progress made in the fight against preventable diseases and preparing for another critical season of vaccine distribution.
Thanks to your generous support, last year we were able to vaccinate over 17,000 pregnant women and children—a milestone that has had a life-saving impact on thousands of families in the Ouelessebougou region. These vaccinations are crucial in an area where rates of preventable diseases like measles, polio, and tetanus remain high. Without your donations, many of these vulnerable individuals would not have had access to these life-saving immunizations, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
This past year’s success is a testament to the power of your giving. By coming together to support this program, you have helped protect countless mothers and children from diseases that can be deadly if left unchecked. But our work is far from over, and with your continued partnership, we are ready to expand our efforts in the coming year.
Our Goals for the Coming Year:
This year, we aim to increase the number of vaccinations administered across the 26 villages we serve, reaching even more pregnant women, children, and families who are at risk. We are committed to scaling up our efforts to ensure that more people in these remote and underserved communities have access to the essential vaccines they need to stay healthy and safe.
One of the most exciting developments on the horizon is the introduction of the new malaria vaccine, which has the potential to save thousands of lives in the region. Malaria remains a leading cause of illness and death in Mali, particularly among young children and pregnant women, and the introduction of this vaccine is a game-changer in our fight against this deadly disease. We are hopeful that, with your continued support, we will be able to integrate this new vaccine into our immunization campaigns in the near future.
How You Are Making a Difference:
Your donations are not just funding vaccinations—they are changing lives. They are ensuring that mothers can give birth to healthy babies, that children can grow up free from preventable disease, and that entire communities are more resilient in the face of health crises. By supporting this program, you are not just making a donation; you are making an investment in a healthier, brighter future for these families.
We remain committed to transparency and accountability in how your donations are used, and we are deeply grateful for the trust you place in us. With your continued generosity, we know we can achieve even more in the year ahead.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support. Together, we are saving lives and making a lasting difference in Mali.
With deepest gratitude,
Rebekah Hawkins
