Suni-Ridge is a wildlife sanctuary conserving sensitive, irreplaceable sand forest habitat for endangered species. Due to the high prices paid for illegal wildlife trade in rare species many vulnerable animals have been cruelly snared. Previously, 85 snares were recovered in one night. There is an urgent need for increased security. Our Sanctuary must protect our biodiversity and funds are desperately needed to keep our wildlife safe.
Due to the uncertainty of the South African Elections, visitors to our Sanctuary have reduced and our income is limited - But we need to do all we can to improve the security of the leopard and the diverse wild we protect. Poaching has dramatically increased in our Region threatening the Leopard and other rare species. Your donation can help us to increase security patrols, bush surveillance cameras, observation drones, and security fencing. Please help to prevent dreadful cruelty.
More rangers and equipment are needed to perform anti-poaching patrols to increase law enforcement presence and visibility in high-risk areas. Your valuable support would also assist with vital veterinary work needed to treat the animals that survived the recent snaring and to allow ongoing rehabilitation work to continue during this difficult time.
Over the past 28 years, Suni-Ridge has been committed to rewilding and protecting an important biodiverse remnant of Sand Forest, providing habitat for leopards and many rare species. The Sanctuary risks losing animals that it has worked so hard to protect. Sadly leopards are poached to be used for traditional attire. But cruel snaring of wild animals can be mitigated by increasing the reserve's security. Your contribution today will hugely protect our leopards and critically rare wildlife.
