We want to arrive early! In Colombia, children face separation not for lack of love, but due to poverty and violence. With your help, we provide psychosocial support and parenting education to 120 children and 90 families at high risk. We prevent substance abuse, maltreatment, gangs, and school dropout by strengthening emotional bonds and protective environments. Our goal is to prevent family separation and entry into state care, ensuring every child grows up in a safe, loving home.
71,148 children in Colombia are currently in a Rights Restoration Process, and 13,897 are in protection services separated from their families (Colombian Institute of Family Welfare 2025). This highlights the urgent need to protect vulnerable children within their own environments by strengthening families through positive parenting, violence-free homes, and active community support as part of a protective ecosystem.
Responding to the risks that affect children and weaken family care, Club Michin Program provides holistic support to prevent the loss of parental care. We strengthen families and communities by promoting protective environments and emotional bonds, helping prevent entry into the state protection system. We address risks such as: drug abuse, maltreatment, gangs and school dropouts. With your support, we can build lasting family capacities and ensure every child grows up in a safe, loving home.
Over the next three years, the project will support the safe stability of 400 children and adolescents within their families and communities, reducing the risk of entry or re-entry into the state protection system. Through the sustained strengthening of parenting skills-measured by quantitative and qualitative tools-we aim to achieve significant improvements in positive parenting, building lasting capacities that endure beyond the intervention.
