The National Fitness Foundation (NFF) is the official charity of the President’s Council on Sport, Fitness and Nutrition. NFF isthe sole organization responsible for administering the Presidential Youth Fitness Program in schools across America. NFF also raises funds that help increase access to youth sport and fitness programs in underserved communities.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a negative and destructive force across virtually all aspects of society. With respect to health and wellness, research data demonstrates that Type 2 diabetes rates among American kids doubled and average adolescent weight gain increased by approximately 10lbs.
In short, COVID-19 exposed massive gaps and inequities in the US physical activity and youth sport systems.
It also demonstrated that declining health and fitness levels in America are a problem that cannot be solved by one entity or even with a massive increase in public investments in the space. Success will require a comprehensive effort across government, and deep coordination with private sector stakeholders.
The National Fitness Foundation is charged with developing partnerships that expand access to youth sports. These partnerships are focused on four pillars.
1. ACTIVATING athletes and coaches sign the American Youth Sports Pledge, committing support for youth sports in America.
2. CROWDFUNDING to support NFF initiatives and programs.
3 AMPLIFYING and ELEVATING the cause of youth health & wellness via joint marketing + social media campaigns.
4. IN-KIND support, including tickets, merchandise, autographs, meet-and-greets and exclusive opportunities that drive revenue for Foundation initiatives and programs.
All of our partners can be found at www.fitness.foundation/partners2. Please contact us should you like to join us in support of our mission of providing all youth with the opportunity to live healthy and active lives.
