Starting Small at The REAL Program is a preschool initiative designed to provide toddlers from ESL (English as a Second Language) families in Lynn and surrounding areas with an early education based on Reggio Emilia principles. Due to limited funding, many children from ESL families miss out on these essential learning opportunities before the age of four, placing them at a disadvantage in their academic journeys. We aim to change this by providing an affordable preschool program for them.
Many toddlers from English as a Second Language families in Lynn face barriers to early childhood education due to financial constraints. Without access to high-quality preschool programs, these children often start their academic journeys at a disadvantage when they enter formal schooling at age 5.
Starting Small at The REAL Program aims to provide access to a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool program for toddlers from ESL families. Our approach emphasizes child-led learning, where teachers act as guides, encouraging exploration and creativity. By offering this program to underserved communities, we give these children a head start on their academic journey, ensuring they develop the skills needed for future success in both school and life.
By providing access to early education, we are laying the groundwork for long-term academic and personal success for these kids. We are training future educators through our partnership with North Shore Community College, ensuring that the best practices in early childhood education are shared and implemented. Our ultimate goal is to create a community where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive, building a brighter future for themselves and their families.
