Progress Report

Our project trained 100 farmers (35% women) on improved pre and post-harvest handling practices, reducing food loss by 18% and increasing incomes by 25%.

Impact:

Food loss reduction, 18% reduction in food loss, saving 216 tons of food (enough to feed 1,800 people for a month)

Income increase, farmers reported a 25% increase in income due to better prices and reduced losses.

Improved food security, 87% of beneficiaries reported improved food security, with more food available for household consumption.

 

Beneficiary Testimonies:

1. " I used to loss 30% of my maize harvest, but now I lose less than 10% thanks to the training". Agness 

     Atuhairwe , a farmer.

2. "I have increased my income by 30% since adopting improved post-harvest handling practices". John Mary , farmer.

3. " Our storage facility has reduced our losses and improved food security". Kabugho Kansiime, community leader.

 

Training and capacity building:

100 farmers trained (35% women)

1 community-led storage facility established

85% of trainees adopted improved practices.
