PowerOn Project Update & Transition Report, April 2026

By Ellie Bessette | Chief Operations Officer

Over the past ten years, the PowerOn program has played an important role in expanding access to digital skills, resources, and opportunities for LGBTQ+ individuals, organizations, and communities across the United States. Through this initiative, we have been able to support empowerment and growth, meet basic needs, and better understand the evolving needs around digital inclusion.

We are now transitioning to a new and expanded version of PowerOn that integrates our Digital Navigator program. This updated model reflects what we have learned: that individuals benefit most from not only access to technology and training, but also personalized, ongoing support to navigate digital tools, services, and opportunities.

Because of this shift, we are deactivating the current PowerOn project page. This change allows us to better align our fundraising efforts with the next phase of the program and ensure that all future support directly contributes to the enhanced PowerOn model. The new PowerOn will continue to build on the success of the original program while expanding its impact through more holistic, community-centered digital support.

We are grateful to all supporters who contributed to PowerOn and helped make this transition possible. Their support has laid the foundation for this next chapter.

Additional information about the updated PowerOn program, including new opportunities to support this work, will be shared soon.
