This summer has been a whirlwind of activity for the PowerForward Int'l team. We were disappointed to postpone our June basketball camp due to in-country unrest and travel concerns. However, we're already planning a December camp that will be bigger and better than ever!
In early August, a number of PowerForward scholars, mentors, and leadership team members gathered both in Boston and Miami. The Boston reunion was a great opportunity for our young men to re-connect and form stronger bonds before they spread across the country for the upcoming school year. The Miami trip was a scouting opportunity for the Haitian national basketball team and our PowerForward athletes didn't disappoint!
Another exciting new development is a collaboration with MIT. Our CEO, Pierre St. Louis, and Founder, Pierre Valmera, recently sat down with a number of MIT leaders and were invited to attend their upcoming Entrepreneurship & Sports Bootcamp in Frankfurt, Germany! There was a flurry of activity to get paperwork and visas secured, but both Pierres leave soon for a weeklong program where they will work with experts to develop a more robust PowerForward Strategy. We know this opportunity will help us grow our impact in Haiti and with our student athletes. We look forward to sharing updates on all we learn in our next report.
