Breaking News: Later this month we will publish the Case Studyof integrating our Kenyan and US international organizations!
As “Part 1”, it explores the nine-month period, starting with CDA Collaborative Learning and Local Capacities for Peace International asking "what if" about a joint future, and ending when we signed our legal integration.
Two stellar consultants - one Kenyan and one American - have helped us get a 360 perspective, capturing the hopes, fears, practical realities, celebrations, and opportunity. Their assessment? “The model offers a potential proof of concept for the ‘shifting power’ movement… in responding to stark financial and political challenges, the two organizations were motivated to move beyond the traditional, often paternalistic, INGO-partner dynamic... [it is] a practical roadmap for equity-centered integration."
Sharing our case study won’t change the financial and political challenges shared by so many organizations right now. But it can help with the "imagination gap" also holding groups back. Since humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding needs are only increasing, we want to be part of inspiring bold steps to meet the moment. This includes models of collaboration that put local leadership at the center on issues like environmental change that are felt both locally and globally.
Your support for Power Shift: Locally-Led Solutions 4 Global Change has made an outsized difference in our ability to "walk the talk" as organizations AND to continue programming that meet community needs.
What's Next: Part 2 of our journey is being written right now. Learning from the daily work of integrated operations, programs, and visioning. We plan to publish these lessons too, and have identified strategic spaces where we can present and engage with others ready to imagine.
Thank you!
