We're Active for life in the Pacific Northwest! 

The 2022 Tour de Cure: Pacific Northwest is back in person, and you won't want to miss it! The Tour de Cure is the American Diabetes Association's largest fundraising and engagement event. 2022 will mark 31 years of being connected and riding for a cure! It will also be the first in-person event we've had since 2020, and we can't wait to see you again!

The Tour de Cure celebrates 30 years of bringing communities together to impact the lives of millions living with diabetes. Nearly half of American adults have diabetes or prediabetes, and every 21 seconds, someone in the United States is diagnosed with diabetes. More than 34 million Americans strive to manage their lives while living with diabetes. In Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho Combined, more than 961,000 people live with diabetes. Every mile we ride and every dollar raised brings us that much more support in fighting this disease that affects so many people in our community. 

Participation in the Tour de Cure:

• Supports programs and education, diabetes advancements in research and advocacy efforts for your community and across the country.
• It helps to ensure the year-round execution of our mission and raise awareness of diabetes.
• Encourages healthy and active living by supporting those looking to take their first step towards a healthier life, proving day after day that diabetes won't slow them down.
• It grows our community of advocates ready to fight our vision of life free from diabetes and all of its burdens.

We had so much fun celebrating the Pacific Northwest Tour de Cure on June 26th. As you may know, this year, the Tour de Cure celebrated 30 years of bringing communities together to impact the lives of millions living with diabetes. This year passionate riders from Alaska, Oregon, and Washington joined together to create the 2021 Virtual Pacific Northwest Tour de Cure. Every mile completed and every dollar raised brought support in fighting this disease that affects so many people in our community.

Participation in the Tour de Cure supports programs and education, diabetes advancements in research, and advocacy efforts for your community and across the country. Advocacy efforts like the recent Copay Cap passed in Oregon by Governor Kate Brown. This legislation capped "monthly copayments for insulin at $75 for those on state-regulated plans, making Oregon the 18th state, plus the District of Columbia, to enact a copay cap on the life-saving medication." While this law is an important step forward in the fight for affordable care, the ADA continues to be the driving force in federal and state efforts to ensure that insulin is affordable and accessible for all people who need it.

Tour de Cure fundraising has supported our efforts to advocate for over 34 million Americans living with diabetes, fund research to bring us closer to a cure, and provide resources to health care professionals and anyone impacted by this disease. Your support will have an impact for years to come.
