As it is in many countries experiencing political instability, women and children in the country have become the most disadvantaged and in some cases, the targets for abuse. Your generous donations would go into: - Transport costs for our Psychosocial support team to tend to GBV, Restorative Justice and sexual assault cases which are currently on the rise - Financial support for medical assistance for survivors - Food support for child and or elderly led households
Due to political unrest in the country; we've seen a minimum 3 cases a week rise in poverty, abuse cases and neglect. Women and children in the country have become the most disadvantaged and in some cases, the targets for abuse. Sexual assaults that result in unwanted pregnancies have become a pandemic on their own as young women have become more vulnerable. This project will help over 50 women and children in the area.
Moya will: - Offer Pyschosocial support assistance and Restorative Justice to victims of violence - Offer Food hampers for families that have lost providers due to the riots - Assist abuse victims to move to safer environments - Offer financial support for medical assistance for victims - Host Gender equity and empowernment workshops to build women's capacity to negotiate power in their intimate relationships and general life
- This project will increase the reporting of abuse cases by social and financial barriers to reporting - It will decrease the level of desperation stemming from hunger that exposes young girls to harmful transactional relationships - This project will empower 50 survivors of violence and abuse by removing them from harmful environments, reporting their perpetrators and empowering them to be able to negotiate their power. These beneficiaries will empower other members of the community.
