The life of LGBTIQ indivuals is Tanzania is as stake, because of routine attacks that are normally done on the streets even during day time.
One member of LGBT Voice was attacked on Friday by two merciless homophobic people, who wanted to kill him just because he is Gay. They seriouly beat him, sturbed him with a knife before a good Samaritan recued him from these Homophobic killers,
The case was reported at one of the police stations but till tis day no action has been taken, the attackers are still on the streets and they can attack him or attack any other Gay.
Thise is the main reason why we need to collect evindence of Homophobic, violence and harassment that take play everyday in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar, these kind of violence takes place acrros the country but the incidences remains un reported due to fear of more harrasment and also poor means of communication. The survivors are always afraid because they are sometimes threatened to be killed. These this do happen, in schools, health facilities, homes,in the bussiness and even landlords are among attackers.
Evidences gathered and well documented will be the only tool that can be used to advocacy for LGBT rights in Tanzania, before the policy makers and law enforcers because they seem to be blind of what is happening in the country.
Please continue heping us till we reach our goal so that we can be able to acomplish this important project that will change the lives of LGBT people in Tanzania and beyond.
