This is a five-year project to address challenges faced by the LGBTQ community using data. Our goal is to uncover hidden stories and improve communication with the LGBTQ community. We aim to promote tolerance, respect, and equality among diverse communities and empower LGBTQ communities to overcome prejudice and foster acceptance.
Tanzania continues to pose significant challenges for LGBTQ individuals, with stringent laws and pervasive bias. Discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation creates obstacles for millions of LGBTQ individuals seeking access to quality healthcare services, Consequently, there has been a disturbing rise in the use of illicit drugs and involvement in the sex trade among this marginalized population, as they resort to these methods to cope with their circumstances.
Through providing trainings that meet the ever-changing needs of LGBTQ+ communities, our goal is to empower our community and promote acceptance and appreciation for diverse beliefs and backgrounds within the wider community. Additionally, these trainings will prioritize the development of essential skills among LGBTQ+ communities and their allies, with a focus on establishing a shared understanding and knowledge base across different gender identities, cultures, and marginalized groups.
Diverse communities to experience increased recognition and admiration like never before, leading to a rise in inclusivity. The media and various reports to actively promote acceptance of LGBTQ people, thereby endorsing the visibility and empowerment of marginalized communities. More families and communities embracing unique perspectives and displaying greater tolerance towards LGBTQI individuals. And eventually a decline in derogatory language and prejudices
