Dear GlobalGiving community,
Part of the work of promoting more sustainable and resilient modes of production and consumption has to do with supporting the adoption of agroecological practices, that is why, PSF team carries out regular visits to the field to evaluate small farmers practices and based on the observations, make recommendations to improve production.
From March 14th to 16th, PSF's agronomists went to meet 12 female farmers in La Calera, Cundinamarca with the objective of evaluating their practices and performing a characterization that will allow the team to know them better and guide them to produce higher quality products and then integrate them into our farmers network.
Our project allows participants to benefit from 16 months of accompaniment and to receive a certification issued by PSF as an agro-ecological producer. This certification helps producers to sell their products through our Sembrando Confianza market in Bogota as well as helping them access new marketing channels such as entrepreneurship fairs and farmers’ markets.
During the visits we inquired about their socio-economic resources, their means of production and their farm in order to target their needs and potential. We had the chance to learn more about the methods of fruit and vegetable production. These questionnaires were then entered into our database of all the producers in our agro-ecological and organic network
Within the next months, we will continue our information analysis to then create action plans for each farm, implement improvements that contribute to producing more and better products and certify them under the Participatory Guarantee System.

We invite you to support us and to help us to achieve our solidarity goals.
