Dear GlobalGiving community,
We are very happy to announce that on August 9 we completed the agroecological certification process for 3 more farmers!
In this case, Oliva, Alex, and Aida de Subachoque shared with various actors in the food system (restaurants, strategic allies, bloggers, and consumers), they opened the doors of their gardens to us, and together we shared knowledge in the midst of planting, harvesting activities, a delicious lunch, and recognition of the food plants.
These visits are possible thanks to your contribution and participation in our weekly agroecological market and the support of organizations that support Participatory Guarantee Systems as much as we do.
You might wonder what the Participatory Guarantee Systems are, and here we have some information for you: Participatory Guarantee Systems - PGS - are systems that certify and promote, in a participatory manner, certain production conditions of an agroecosystem, in this case, agroecological production.
The PGS's entail a close relationship between the producer, the consumer, and the promoters of the markets, betting on the common welfare, through mutual commitment and the active participation of the interested parties.
The PGS's are based on the participants' own will, promoting their d honest, clear, and trustworthy communication.
Thank you for continue supporting clean and responsible production and consumption in Colombia.
Best regards,
Luisa P.
