At Kassanda Children’s Aid, we are excited to share the progress of our programs as we continue working toward sustainable livelihoods and quality education for the children in our care.
Piggery Project Update:
We are excited to announce that our piggery project is progressing well. Currently, we have three pregnant pigs that are expected to give birth soon, marking a significant milestone in our initiative to provide a sustainable source of income and nutrition for the children in our care. This development will not only enhance our food security but also offer valuable learning opportunities for the children in animal husbandry and entrepreneurship.
School Update:
As we approach the end of the second term, we are proud of the academic achievements and extracurricular activities our children have engaged in. One of the highlights of the term was the study tour to Jinja, which provided our children with practical learning experiences. During the tour, the children visited:
1. Tea Plantation: They gained insights into tea production processes and understood the economic importance of the tea industry.
2. Mabira Forest: The children explored the forest ecosystem, learning about biodiversity and the significance of conservation efforts.
3. New Bridge: They learned about the structural integrity of bridges and their importance in connecting communities.
4. Bakery: The children were introduced to bread-making processes and the baking industry, sparking interest in entrepreneurship and food production.
5. Mesese Landing Sites: They observed fishing practices and learned about the role of fisheries in the local economy.
These experiences have enriched the children's learning and provided them with valuable life skills. We are grateful to all who supported this initiative.
The upcoming births in our piggery project and the successful conclusion of the second term are significant milestones for Kassanda Children's Aid. While we are encouraged by the progress made so far, we recognize that there is still much work to be done. Currently, only 10 out of 40 vulnerable families in our community have benefited from our initiatives. Therefore, we humbly request additional support to expand our reach and impact. With more resources, we can provide more opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, education, and growth to the remaining families in need. Your support will be instrumental in helping us achieve our mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of more children and families.
