Pigs for Prosperity: Empower 40 Widows and Orphans

Dear Partners in Development,

Warm greetings from Kassanda Children’s Aid. I hope this report finds you in good health. It has been three months since we launched our developmental project, Pigs for Prosperity and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the individuals, foundations, and companies that have supported us financially in our efforts to uplift the community of Kassanda.

About Kassanda Children’s Aid:
We currently serve 120 families, many of whom include orphans and vulnerable children. Sadly, some of these children are not only orphans but also living with HIV/AIDS, which significantly impacts their well-being. Many of the widows we assist are also on HIV/AIDS medication, facing similar challenges. Your contributions to this project, no matter the amount, are truly a blessing and provide a stepping stone toward improving their financial status and quality of life.

Progress on the "Pigs for Prosperity" Project:
Thanks to the first round of donations, we were able to purchase chain links and poles to construct a pigsty. We also acquired some pigs to kickstart the project. While still in its early stages, we believe this initiative has the potential to transform many lives. Your continued support will help us expand this project and bring hope to more families.

Updates on Our Other Projects:

1. Seed Junior School (Orphanage School):

   • Currently, we serve 202 children. The school is on holiday and will reopen in February 2025. However, our upper-class students will begin a holiday coaching program on January 6, 2025.
   • Through the Get-Schooled Project, we provide educational sponsorships for 12 children. We are grateful that all their educational needs for 2024 were met, including uniforms and meals at school. We are praying for continued sponsorship in 2025 so these children can pursue their education without interruption.

2. Future Goals:

   • When school resumes on February 3, 2025, we aim to maintain the progress made in supporting our students and continue meeting the needs of our community’s most vulnerable members.
