There were a number of natural disasters in the second half of 2025, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball connected with multiple leagues/communities in Texas, Maui, and Florida regarding support for the spring 2026 season. When natural disasters occur, there is inevitably an immediate outpouring of support in terms of dollars and in-kind donations. The instinct is to cast a wide net to ensure that losses and needs are covered. However, after helping dozens of communities rebuild baseball/softball programs following a natural disaster, there is a predictable cycle. Following the initial outpouring, communities then take stock and inventory of all resources, at which point, there are inevitably gaps and outstanding needs. This is the point at which Pitch In For Baseball & Softball becomes most effective - helping to fill in the gaps.
In Q1 2026, PIFBS will be supporting two Disaster Relief Projects - one in Ingram, TX with Ingram Little League and a multi site project in Maui (Pono Little League, Boys & Girls Club of Maui, and Kulanihakoi High School) to assist with ongoing post-wildfire recovery efforts.
Research points to that recreation programs like baseball and softball can help children heal following a tremendous loss, and can bring communities together in times of tragedy. We can't wait to update you with pics of these very special projects!
