The deep humanitarian crisis has deteriorated our social fabric, affecting the most vulnerable: our children. OSCASI with 65 year experience improving lives in Petare is in a position to mend this situation. With this project we will feed, heal, educate and offer care to 150 kids that attend or two alternative schools in Petare, the largest slum in Caracas. We'll pay special attention to monitoring and providing nutrition to our children. We'll also work with the community close to our schools.
Venezuela is undergoing a severe humanitarian crisis. This crisis has an evident economic component evidenced in the prolonged hyperinflation, lack of basic services, shortage of food and healthcare. But more importantly it has affect the social fabric in our country. As an example according to data from a recognized local NGO, in 2018 around 850,000 children lost contact with at least one of his parents due to the forced migration of many Venezuelans seeking opportunities outside our country.
In this context, the school becomes as an esencial space for mending this social fabric. With this project we want to continue to offer nutrition & care to our 150 students in Petare. In addition to medical services to our kids, teachers and nearby community. We'll also continue to provide education to those who need it more, in our two "alternative schools" in Petare our target audiences are students that are not accepted in the regular school system. And above all we'll offer love and care.
With this project we will heal, feed and educate 150 kids and also postively impact their families. In a challenging moment in our country, we feel we need to invest even more in our children so they can serve as relay generation in a better Venezuela. OSCASI has over 65 years experience in Petare, a long-standing tradition that involves the compromise from the San Ignacio de Loyola School in Caracas, with your support we will continue to do what we do best and providing opportunities in Petare.
