Dear PEP Friends,
We are so thankful for the role that each of you has played in the past two months as we have joined Global Giving. You helped us raise more than $5,500 from over 50 different people! Your facebook shares, retweets, emails, and words spread the message of the Primary Education Project- THANK YOU!
The past two months we have conducted trainings, evaluations, and made strides in our new Women's Empowerment Program. This program will begin initially in 30 of our 84 communities. It aims to reduce drop out rates for girls, increase female enrollment, and build the knowledge, confidence, and self-esteem of the women in the village. Many girls are forced to drop out of school after the fourth grade to be married or are not allowed to enroll at all. We're hoping to begin to change some of these mindsets and encourage our girls to be strong and intelligent! We've also held trainings for teachers and children on savings and community health! You can visit our blog to read stories about some of the people you're empowering! If you would like to be added to our monthly newsletter update to get more details the projects we're working on and on how your donations are being used, sign up here!
Vote for our video on this site and you can help us win $5,000! The contest begins on Valentine's Day and runs until Feb. 28th. Share the link with your friends and family on facebook, email, and twitter and encourage them to vote!
Thanks again so much for your support!!
