Over the past months, the children and teenagers of Pé de Moleque have been dedicating themselves intensely to rehearsals for a major ballet performance that will take place on November 5th at a large theater in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. For many of these students, this will be their first experience performing on a professional stage in front of hundreds of people, including family members and friends.
Through weekly ballet classes, rehearsals, and artistic preparation, the students are developing discipline, confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Many come from low-income families and previously had little or no access to arts education. Today, they are proudly preparing costumes, choreography, and stage performances that celebrate their talent and hard work.
One mother recently shared how her daughter became more confident and motivated after joining the program. She explained that ballet helped her child overcome shyness, improve her focus at school, and dream about new possibilities for her future. Stories like this remind us that Pé de Moleque is about much more than dance — it is about creating opportunities, belonging, and hope.
Thanks to the support of donors, we continue providing free ballet education, transportation assistance, costumes, and performance opportunities for 50 children and adolescents. Every rehearsal brings these young dancers one step closer to a transformative experience they will never forget.
