Peace School for Afghan Refugees and Host Communities Report – July - September 2021
10 years old Asad is a student of class III in Peace School. His father has passed away when he was 03 years old and he is the youngest in 7 siblings. He is living in a single room rented place, his mother is a domestic helper and her sister is also working an unpaid family helper in nearby community. One of his sister is also a full time helper at a place. He wanted to study more and to become a doctor in future. He said he doesn't like his mother and sister to work and wanted to work hard for his family to bring change in the future of his family.
Indipendence Day-Green Pakistan Campaign:
On the eve of independence day,the students planted trees in the community and adopted the plants like every year. The group of students planted the trees in the community. The objective of the activity was to sensitize the students about the significiance of the planting trees and clean enviornment.
Participation in drawing competation:
Children Complex A drawing competition was organized in the children complex Lahore. The students from the peace school has participated in the competition. The students from the grade 04 and grade 05 were the members in the contest. They were guided by the teachers and the principal and pre sessions were held with the students for the preparations. The students were awarded by the certificate of appreciation in the competition.
Vaccination for the Hepatitis B:
Students were vaccinated for the protection of Hepatitis B. the school children were vaccinated and the management has organized the vaccination for the students. The students and their parents were briefed before the vaccination, and the significance of the prevention. The consent was taken from the parents before the camp.
Staff Meeting:
Staff meeting was held to discuss the school performance and the future strategy of the school. The meeting was held to review the strategies to cover the syllabus of the students in time. It was discussed to fast track the curriculum as per the guidelines of the government.
