Despite the situation with the pandemic in Ukraine, on August 16, 2020 Peace school volunteers conducted a charity project in Lisichansk.
There are many people there who need help and support, even the simplest one. This time our volunteers went to the front-line zone. The family, which adopted four girls, received a package of assistance consisting of clothing and stationery for school. At the beginning of the school year, it was a big help.
We plan to continue helping people in need. By sharing love with others, we can build a bridge of true love between the hearts of people.
Due to the coronavirus situation, Peace School conducted an online English lesson for students. More than 20 participants from different parts of Ukraine joined the live broadcast. One of the trainers shared his knowledge of English language through English songs. A song is a great tool for learning a foreign language.
All participants had the opportunity to ask questions live, communicate with each other and practice their English skills. And of course they could even sing together.
It was a wonderful and rewarding experience for anyone who could join the online meeting. We plan to continue learning and communication online.
On December 23, 2019, Peace School lesson on "Media Literacy" took place in an interactive form in Kyiv school 85. It was attended by about 20 students from five Kyiv schools.
The purpose was to motivate youth to see that the world around us has changed a lot and became digital, and that’s why it’s necessary to develop new media competencies. In our time there are many sources of information, and the ability to operate and understand it is very important.
Pupils got the practical information on the dangers of digital technologies and on how we are affected by information pressure. All participants were actively involved in the event, gaining the necessary knowledge and skills.
On October 13, 2019 a Peace School training "Peace depends on us" was held. 25 pupils participated. The training was held at the State Educational Institution "Center for professional education of technology and design in Kyiv". The event was aimed to create the mindset of culture of peace in participants and desire to care for others.
On the training children found out what everyone should do to serve the world and what character traits they should have. They were divided into small groups and together discussed the model of the world with clear rules and values of life.
Children drew up a plan of change “What can I change in my life to make it better for myself and others”. Through this they learned how to analyze and predict the consequences of their actions and their impact on others.
