When we invest in one person's pathway to work, the whole community benefits. LIFE Works helps adults and opportunity youth navigate the education, training, and support services they need to move into employment and career pathways. Through scholarships, supportive services, empowerment coaching, and structured experiences, participants can earn a high school diploma, gain industry-recognized credentials, and prepare to transition into work-based learning apprenticeship opportunities.
Too many adults in Deep East Texas are shut out of stable careers not for lack of effort, but because of interrupted education, financial hardship, and barriers like transportation, childcare, testing costs, and limited career exposure. Without a diploma, credential, or structured pathway, many remain stuck in low-wage work or disconnected from opportunity. The need is not just jobs, but a clear bridge to long-term career entry.
LIFE's workforce development department provides that bridge through scholarships, wraparound support, and career-connected training. We help participants complete diplomas, earn credentials, receive coaching, access childcare and transportation, and gain work-based learning experience. As a pre-apprenticeship model, LIFE Works prepares participants for employment, occupational training, and, where available, transition into Registered Apprenticeship and other long-term career pathways.
A diploma creates access. A credential creates opportunity. A workforce pathway creates momentum. LIFE Works helps participants build durable futures through education, training, work-based learning, and transition support. The result is stronger families, a better-prepared workforce, and a healthier regional economy. With $50,000, LIFE Works will expand scholarships, deepen pre-apprenticeship support, and strengthen career transitions across Deep East Texas.
