By Prescilia Bolosier | The Olympic Games project with SFM's children
The Olympic Games are taking place in Paris in July, and we have carried out two activities to introduce the children of SFM Clichy to Olympic and Paralympic values, in partnership with La Croix Rouge and the "Les Petits Débrouillards" association.
Introduction to first aid with La Croix Rouge
One of the key values of the Olympic Games is citizenship, and it is in this context that we have entered into this partnership with La Croix Rouge to help young people become responsible citizens.
La Croix Rouge is a French humanitarian aid organisation. Its aim is to help people in precarious situations. Its core missions are emergency relief, first aid, social action, training, health and international action.
To promote civic values, young people in the schooling support of SFM received an introduction to first aid with La Croix Rouge. The lessons and discussions focused on the essential actions needed to take care of others in vulnerable situations: cardiac massage, lateral safety position, etc.
As well as providing support for schooling, we help our young people to become responsible and caring citizens.
We continued our collaboration with the association "Les Petits Débrouillards".
After running workshops on the theme of science at the beginning of the year, the workshops focused on the theme of Olympism and Paralympism.
For 6 sessions, the children of SFM were able to learn and assimilate Olympic values through workshops combining theory and practice.
It was an enriching experience that enabled the youngsters to learn about sport and understand the important issues conveyed by the Olympic and Paralympic values.
