Parkinson disease is a progressive degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The most obvious symptoms are shaking (resting tremor), rigidity, slowness of movement and postural instability, constipation, sleep problem and a lot others. In the early stage patients can function independently in carrying out daily activities. As the disease progress, disability increases and quality of life decline. In advanced stage caregivers assistance becomes essential. And finally it made them unable to stand and walk. Also medication capacity to handle this situation on the daily bases becomes deteriorates. As the Parkinson patient movement reduces (health and economy) of the house hold.
To mitigate this problem PPSO-E provides wheelchair. The wheelchair, reduce the burden of care givers by helping the patients to move from place to place. This wheelchair support provided for vulnerable PD patients who cannot afford to buy. Let us hear from Mr. Nahusenaye view, how a wheelchair supportimproves his life. At first when the disease starts I was able to do all activities by myself. But when time has gone it become worsen and made me unable to move independently. I couldn’t stand and walk. So minimum of two caregivers is needed to hold me up to go toilet or other places. But now with this wheelchair I can go the place where I want with a minimum support. Thanks to donation which made me so happy.
