Pamodzi SDA Church Expansion: A Sanctuary of Hope

From the dusty streets of Pamodzi in Ndola, every Sabbath tells the same story: long before the service begins, families arrive and quietly fill every bench, aisle, doorway, and window of a church that was built for just 250 people but now carries the hopes of more than 1,500 worshippers. Many stand for the entire service, some listen from outside under the sun, yet no one wants to stay away — because this is where they find comfort, community, and the courage to face another week. Through this project, we have been able to organize the congregation, strengthen our leadership’s planning, and keep the vision of a larger sanctuary alive in the hearts of our members. Your interest and prayers are a powerful encouragement that we are not walking this journey alone.

The Pamodzi SDA Church Expansion is more than a construction plan; it is our community’s dream of a true spiritual home where no one is turned away or left outside the windows. As we continue refining designs, mobilizing local support, and laying the groundwork for the new 2,500-seater sanctuary, we are also strengthening the ministries that will one day fill it: youth mentorship, health and wellness outreach, support for widows and orphans, and fellowship spaces where families can grow together in faith. Your solidarity is helping transform an overcrowded building into the vision of a permanent “Sanctuary of Hope” — a place where generations in Pamodzi will worship, learn, and be empowered to serve others.

Dear Supporters,

We are thrilled to share that the Pamodzi SDA Church Expansion project is steadily transforming from vision to reality—thanks to your prayers, generosity, and continued belief in our mission. Over the past three months, we have completed the foundation and begun raising the structural walls of the new sanctuary that will serve hundreds of worshipers and community members in Pamodzi.

One of the most touching moments was when 12-year-old Tiwonge, who attends Sabbath School in a temporary tent, looked at the rising walls and said, “This will be our real home now.” Stories like hers remind us that this project is more than bricks and mortar—it is about building a space where faith, unity, and healing can flourish. Once completed, the expanded church will host children’s ministries, health seminars, youth mentorship programs, and serve as an emergency shelter for families in need during rainy seasons.

So far, over 180 members and guests have benefited from the project through improved worship space, youth engagement, and volunteer opportunities. We’ve also seen new families begin attending services simply because they feel welcomed into a growing, hopeful space.

In the coming weeks, we will begin roofing and preparing for the interior works.
