Since our last update, the Pamodzi SDA Church Expansion has moved from vision to visible progress. In February, the Building Committee finalized a major steel procurement agreement to strengthen the sanctuary’s structural framework, marking a critical milestone in expanding our worship space. Initial payments were completed, materials were scheduled for delivery, and groundwork preparations began immediately upon confirmation. This expansion is designed to increase seating capacity by approximately 40%, improve safety standards, and create a dignified environment for worship, youth programs, and community gatherings.
One of the most touching moments this quarter came from a young mother in the congregation, Mary (name changed for privacy), who shared how overcrowding has often required her to stand outside during services while holding her child. With the new structural framework underway, families like hers will soon worship in a safer and more comfortable space. To date, more than 250 regular congregants—including over 90 children and youth—stand to directly benefit from this expansion, while many more community members will access the church for outreach programs, counseling, and health awareness activities.
The project has also strengthened unity within the congregation. Volunteers have contributed time toward planning, logistics, and oversight, while leaders have ensured transparent financial management and documentation. Despite rising construction costs and economic pressures, careful installment planning has allowed the project to progress responsibly. As steel structures begin to take shape, we are reminded that this is more than construction—it is the building of a sanctuary that nurtures faith, stability, and hope for generations to come.
